CASE STUDIES
Company A
Manufacturer based in the United Kingdom within a rapidly expanding environment, with little or no control over its import arrangements. These were left to its freight agent, who applied tariff classifications codes at its own discretion. This was the case even though the annual duty bill was £0.75 million. Duty amounting to £2.5 million was either recovered or saved.
Company B
A multi-national company with a distribution centre in Germany. The company was involved in a pan-European dispute in relation to the tariff classification of consumer electronic products. We assisted in the recovery of duty paid in Italy and the UK, the duty already having been saved in Germany. This project focused on equitable treatment within the European Union. The duty recovered was €180k.
Company C
With divisions in the United Kingdom and The Netherlands, this company sought standardisation of treatment in relation to the recovery of duty on credits provided by a parent company in the Far East. The focus of this project was import valuation with savings in excess of €1.5 million.
